Sad day friends. Buddy went fishing today at welsh. Says there are hundreds maybe even thousands of dead fish in the back of welsh.

Both Welsh and Monti have big shad kills this time of year every year. Once the water in certain areas starts staying above 101-102 for an extended period of time, I see it start happening. And I checked that FB post and he was fishing the discharge which is the hottest water on the lake.

Those lakes are both so full of shad it does nothing to either lake.

+1 A few bass, bream, catfish and crappie end up in the dead mess. But typically not enough gamefish to be concerned.

Was there yesterday. It's really nasty. Mostly bass and carp (saw 100-150) in the upper end and shad on lower. Saw quite a few fish struggling. Grass in good shape and water temp is actually cool for this time of year. Bite was nonexistent.

90 degrees on Cypress, and comparable to the Dead Sea! Except with 3' wakeboard rollers all over
