On a difficulty level of 1-10 how challenging is it to install graphs on both the bow and console. 2 HDS Gen 3's.
FYI, there is already a ram mount next to the console and mounting a dek-it on the bow seems pretty straight forward. What about wiring?

5, just running wires installing transducer's. Time consuming but not too difficult.

The difficulty will depend on what you are replacing. If compatible units you may not have to do much. Do you have transducers installed from previous units? Are old unit power wires on the boat?

Installing both a skimmer transducer on transom and an lss-2 on the TM. Not sure about previous wiring yet.

It's easy, especially if you are a contortionist (at least, that is my experience with Tritons) but labor intensive depending on how you plan to wire the units.

Having a fish tape helps to pull cables and wear a thick long sleeve shirt if you have to reach under the deck any where. The fiberglass is not sealed and you'll get an arm full of glass splinters.

+1 And the contortionist thing

The boat brand/design style can matter in how hard it is to run wiring. Knowing how to do wiring correctly (speaking specifically about power here) is a benefit. There are a lot of chances for doing it in a less than robust way. Example: make sure everything is correctly fused and that connections are reliable/sealed.

Are you really convinced that you need an LSS-2 transducer on the TM? Do you truly understand the drawbacks of this? Many who want more than conventional sonar at the bow opt to put an HD transducer on the TM - some after discovering that side-scan on a rotating mount isn't so functional after all. This gives regular sonar plus DownScan, but not side-scan.

Is there already a side-scan transducer at the stern of the boat, or are you putting the only one of these on the TM? I think side-scan is of way more value at the stern, and virtually useless on the TM.

Ended up going with the HDI skimmer. My brother and father-in-law are more electrically inclined than I am so they will be helping me with the wiring, fusing and what not.

Everyone is certainly allowed to do as they wish, but I knew that many found the side-scan on TM to not be all it was in the mental day-dreaming...... I have the HDI on my TM also. It sounds like you have some capable assistants at hand. The work isn't hard, just need to know a few things for it to be trouble-free in the long term...good luck!

It isn't difficult at all, just can be time consuming running wires depending on the boat. Do you have wires there already? If so and you want to run new wires, tie new wires to an existing wire then pull it back to the battery. I use a fish tape to get a small cord to where I need the wires then tie them to the cord and gently pull them through. If you go that route, pull an extra cord through at the same time and tuck it away from view then you'll be ready for the next time that you need to run any wires. I honestly don't know why so many people pay to have them mounted.

To avoid power/interference issues & in my case LOL physical & flexibility agility reasons. i would imagine Bobby. You need to call me sometime too. Haven't heard from you in a while. I bought Helix12 & 10 G2N's & considering having David Goodson install them. After my Total rebuild/rewire of my boat I dont know if I WANT to do it myself again. Hahahaha

We would be happy to assist you if needed. We wire all electronics direct to the starting battery to eliminate the possibility of any electrical interference and or voltage loss when tapping into the fuse panel or accessories switch.
