Stupid minor water leak. Of course it requires sautering copper pipe (which I've never been particularly good at) and part of my brain is screaming at me for even considering calling somebody in to repair it. I can just hear my dad in the back of my head "You're wasting money being lazy."
And what sucks is we wouldn't be having this problem if whoever installed the god blessed pipe in the beginning didn't overheat it when applying the sauter and make it fragile to begin with. That's exactly what I'm afraid of doing.
I'm chewing on my own pride. $180 an hour is absurd.

I never let my wife call...they always rip her off.
She had the outside shut-off valve fixed on a Saturday when I was in a tournament and it cost us $1,200.
I told her to get a hotel room till Monday and I'll do it myself...would have been cheaper.

*solder Yeah, fairly easy if you have all the stuff! I don't... not any more. Did have it with daddy's stuff but divorce, death, taxes, moving, fire, etc. I know exactly where it was in the shop. I can close my eyes and walk into the shop and know exactly what shelf everything would have been on. Real damn tempted to go get it and fix it myself. Knew I was spelling it wrong but no spell check on here.

It's a copper pipe that has a stress fracture in it from the idiot that was installing the fitting getting it too hot. The most simple thing to do to fix it would be to fix it right. Cut below the stress fracture, use a coupler and a length of pipe to replace where it's busted and you're done. I know exactly how to do it. It's just DOING it that's the issue. I'm really not comfortable using a blow torch in the wall less than 6" from structural studs. ... Yes, I know there's heat blocker shields to protect behind where you're using the torch to melt the solder.

Wet rags will protect the wall. Oxy Acetylene torch, silver solder and flux will close the crack permanently. Little bit of plumber's roll paper to clean it first...
No need to replace pipe.
Cast I have a short attention spa

Kat, knowing your skill set, I'm sure you can fix this yourself for much less than paying someone $180 per hour. Can you post up a pic or 2 of what this looks like as far as location and whats on both sides of the crack? Several options available depending on what you're dealing with.

We charge $90 an hour. It might be time for a price increase.
