Putting 2 HDS Gen 3's on the boat. Do I need a GPS puck?

They have an internal antenna and do not require an external puck.

You can't just put an external antenna on one. You would have to install the NMEA network and put the antenna in it.

The point1 is a heading sensor, if you fish open water then you definitely want it! You'll need the nmea network for it to work though.
