Snapped a BPS Tourney Special on hookset last night.
7' Med/fast....anyone know if I have a shot at getting them to replace it?
Rod is 6 months old.

If you have the receipt they should replace it.

BPS has let me return multiple items without a receipt. They let me return the Tourney Special reel without one. I think they are pretty lenient about returning products of their brand.

There is a certain time limit for returns or at least there used to be. I don't remember the length of it. I once went to return something w/ the receipt (I can't remember exactly what it was now. Senior moment and several years passing since the incident.) and they wouldn't take it back due to length of time I had it. My late return was due to some physical problems, a hospitalization, and re-hab time, which I told them about, so since they wouldn't take it back and I had no need for it, in front of other customers at the front service desk, those entering, and exiting I just stomped on it and broke it into pieces, leaving it all on the floor.

bps return policy sucks. I tried to return a brand new reel with a receipt that I bought 5 months prior and they wouldn't take it back

I doubt they would want to take back a product that someone broke, regardless of the story. Even with a good story, which i'm sure they hear plenty of, it still was broke by user.

I broke a guide off one of my Carbon Lite's a few months ago (completely my fault) and they traded it for a new one no questions asked.

Bought a travel rod two weeks ago for a flight to GA. Did not expect too much of the rod but it snapped on the first fish! A small one pounder! Will be taking it back with receipt tomorrow!

Man I would hate to produce products for anglers. When the expectation is when they break something they should get a free replacement. It's sad

A buddy broke a Duckett rod and he was going to throw it away. I took it to the Bass Pro in Grapevine and they swapped it out for another one just like it, no receipt or questions asked.

I used to work at Bass Pro Grapevine. The majority of their fishing rods have a 1-year warranty. Even if you don't have the receipt, if you used the rewards card, they should be able to look it up. I feel like BPS is very lenient with their returns, especially if it's a Bass Pro product. However, they don't have much control over returns from different companies. They give you a 1 (or 3, it's been a while) month grace period for refunds as long as the product isn't broken or anything. I mean, a store shouldn't be able to or be inclined to give you a new item if you were the one responsible for the breakage; companies like Shimano have ended their over-the-counter warranty long ago.
