I was wondering what kind of rod to throw the 130 size whopper Plopper on?
Heavy or extra heavy med/hvy and so on.
Thanks for the help

Warren

I throw mine on a med heavy moderate with no problems. I usually use 20 mono but have thrown it with braid without much issue. I make more of a lob cast with it and use the 90 if I am trying to get it into tight spots.

I throw them on a extra heavy Denali Kovert 7'8" with 65 sunline braid.

I throw it on my Cara Amistad or the Kernan Custom rod. Both are heavy rods, but not broomsticks. 50lb Power Pro on the line.

M-H or H works fine for the 130 even if it is a little over the "suggested weight" for the particular rod. I fish them and find them too light for my designated A-rig/swimbait rods that are rated for 4+ ounce baits. Remember: Heavy means way less in a standard bass rod and a specific swimbait rod. Apples and oranges.
