What size braid are yall throwing on your frogs/ toads? I have never used braid but have been learning the importance of it.

65 pound test works very well.
50 pound breaks too easily in thick stuff.

50 lb. You're not breaking braid. Your knot may slip, but you won't break it.

40 or 50 only have 65 on my punching set up. Im big on cracking them and holding on a frog not trying to drag them out just go to them

40 is pleanty. makes casting must better. 65 is overkill
if you break 40lb braid then the braid is [censored]

Yes I can. It was Power Pro. My knots do not slip.
I switched from 50# test to 65 and haven't broken off since then.

Or it could be you aren't very strong if you can't break 40# braid.

I use 80, No reason to let them have any advantage.

I use 65# braid... 50# does a much better job of cutting through the grass or cover and just slicing it out-of-the-way, but I have broken 50 pound braid many times on either the hookset or trying to get a fish out of the junk. Some of the casts I make, going in and getting them is not an option. Well unless you fire up the big motor and hammer it for a couple of bursts.
