It was ultra slow for me Sunday. On the water from 8 until noon. Tried several spots ten dinks and one 13" white. I also had a bluegill hit a 1/8 jig. LOL...

Update, the Lavon website was updated on the 10th to include the progress (loose term there) that is being made to the closures. I drove by Clear Lake park last night and the gate attendant told me they have been awaiting the results of soil samples for months, to figure out how to pack the dirt in order to lay new pavement. No timetable to be open, because apparently whoever is working on it doesn't have goals or deadlines or anything.

For Avalon, I was told they are awaiting bids on the repair; I don't remember the last time Avalon was open, but apparently in that amount of time they don't have a bid for the repair.

Just the updates as I heard them from the man last night, hopefully the result is better than the current expectation

When the attendent at East Fork was asked when the other (better location) marina ramp would be open, He said "2050".
That may have been a conservative estimate... grin

Don't want to get in too big of a hurry around there.

Lavon update. More awesomeness from COE. Apparently FULL POOL is not a good water level for Brockdale. went over there today because it was too windy to launch at Tickey.

Brockdale is closed for road repairs, water level has nothing to do with it. They are doing this at quite a few of the parks it looks like. Hey just go over to Collin, all you have to give them is one of your arms and you can launch barf

I hesitate to complain, as it will do 0 good, but having 1 usable ramp on the west side of the lake is ridiculous. (I don't count highland or north of 380 because they are functionally pointless for fishing main lake).

Well said. 2 great locations on the east side that are free, and then 1 ramp on the west side that charges $9 if you are alone! Yeah I went to Highland after I found Brockdale closed, boy was that a mistake. Spent half my day idling through timber.

I have launched off of Mallard and Avalon (or East Fork) and they were both good.

I feel your pain. I have been launching at Tickey Creek. Collin is too expensive. Looks like it will be next year before Brockdale or Clear Lake are open.
