Took an old buddy on a meat run on Palestine yesterday, and it did not dissapoint!
We started the morning out by dropping 4 new Crappie Condos, then started fishing around 8:30am.
By noon we had just about filled our 2-man limit. Hit a few more BPs to see if the pattern held up, and finish our limit around 1:30pm.
EXTREMELY good quality on this trip! Big fish=1.89lbs, 5 over 1.5lbs, 10 over 1.25, 18 over 1lb, and our top 7 were pushing 12lbs! banana
CAT stringers at the State Tourney in October should be impressive. thumb
Fish were shallow due to an intense thermocline developing on the lake.
Double jig rigs produced several doubles, but they preferred a single 1/8oz JERRY'S JIG handtied in Chart/Purple/Chart or Pink/Green/Chart
Fruits of our labor was enjoyed tonight with a good fish fry. Fillets were so big, we only used half to feed 15-20 people. clap

DOUBLE JIG = DOUBLE CATCH

Outstanding haul! Was on my way to work yesterday and passed a boat loaded with bamboo and plastic tubing in Frankston on 155 a little before 7:00. Not sure if that was you but I was envious.

They have some good ones at Buckey's, a little pricey but worth every penny

Buddy that owns a lumber yard got 4-5 of them at a trade show, and I bought one off him. I'll double check the name brand though. It's smaller than those you see at Bucees and it's Stainless.

I thought I was the only person in America that threw slices of onions on my fish while I was frying it. Guess not. I can really tell a difference when I don't use onion. I've recently have been throwing in a quartered lemon and it's pretty good also.

I have 3 Cajun fryers and just drain the oil and spray the goop out once or twice a year. Anybody that doesn't cook for 20-50 or more outta stick to one of the 2.5 gallon ones. I have a 2.5, 4.5, and 6 gallon cooker! Heck your $150 deep before you light em in peanut oil!!! hammer

OUTSTANDING! Doesn't take long when you're slinging them over the side two at a time.
