I have a few citicas that cast a mile and are great reels, thats why I do not want to move on from them. The only problem is the absurd grinding sound they are producing. Ive tried greasing the gears and taking it apart to maintenance fully with no luck. Can anyone send me in the right direction to get it fixed? Or how to solve this problem?

While reeling?

Both?

Whine or grind?

Low pitch or high pitch?

Sorry, it is only when i am reeling and its more of a lower pitch grind. It sounds like it is metal grinding metal if that helps at all.

Probably main gear and pinion would fix it.

What model Citica?

is it grinding or clicking. it could be the super stopper riding on the anti reverse. if that's the case, just remove the stopper. it is useless anyway and only a backup incase the anti reverse fails.

that was my first thought so i removed it, but there still seems to be a problem. Im debating just sending them in to have some parts replaced.

I'd take them to southwest parts in Dallas to be looked at.
