What are some of the insurance basics that I should know going into it?

I believe in being over insured vs under. Get a ridder on your tackle, rods and gear. With most carriers if it bolts to the boat then its part of the boat. So make sure that boat amount covers your graphs and TM.

Spread all you gear out on your deck and take pictures.
