I am trying to replace the aerator pump on the livewell in my 95 champion. The current aerator pump is the cartridge style that twist locks into the base. For the life of me, I can not get the old pump to twist out of the base. So I am thinking I need to remove the whole aerator pump assembly from the live well. On the inside of the live well there is a plastic strainer screen where the aerator intakes water from the live well. Question: How do I get this assembly apart from the livewell? It appears to have sealant/silicon surrounding the fittings where it is sandwiched between the livewell wall. If I manage to get it off, will I need to reseal it with some marine grade sealant of some kind? If so, what is recommended? Ill try to get pics later, as I know I haven't explained it as well as possible for a lack of knowledge on the parts/pieces terminology on my part.
Thanks, Austin

Have you made sure that you have disengaged the lock?
I've had to get a screwdriver and pry on it a bit to get it totally disengaged. They can be tough, but I've never seen one seized, other then the locking mechanism.

You may look on the underside of the cartridge base, sometimes they will have set screws in them that keep the cartridge from turning and coming out.
