In a few weeks, I and about 10 buddies are heading down there for a little overnight trip. I have some ideas in my head, but I haven't been down there in roughly 5-7 years, and I'm sure things have changed. Any pointers or areas to stay away from? I'd like to make it to where the big rocks are in the water at Chick Bend, but don't know if it'd be accommodating to that many people? PM if you'd like. Thanks in advance!

Last year we did the trip and there was a lot of people on the river that weekend. We started slow after fishing the first couple bends we noticed fishing slowed so we paddled hard and passed everybody. We still fished but not as much as I would like but we wanted a good camping spot so we stayed ahead of the people. Ended up making camp right before the big rocks and the second day was short but good fishing. I wish we would have taken our time to fish better the first day and camped a little more in the middle. As for the river it changes from flood to flood and year to year but most big sandbars will still be where you remember.

Before you get to the big rocks, there is an area on the right shore than we like to camp. Most people stop at the "halfway islands", so we go a bit further to get away from the crowds.

Thanks for all the pointers guys, we're headed down there this weekend so I'll be sure and post a follow up as to how it went.
