Looking at picking up a 1997 ZX202c with a 1997 Yamaha Pro V.
What's the good, the bad, and the ugly on these boats?
Never owned a skeeter, just sold my Gambler, don't care to go fast anymore but do want a better fishing platform and hopefully this is the boat.

Boat's good, just have the Pro V checked and you'll be happy. I'd stay away from the tube trailer if it has one, rust issues.

I had a '97 with a 200 Pro V. Motor ran like a champ and the boat was a great fishing platform. Just decided to upgrade to a newer Skeeter.

Those motors are good ones as stated. Skeeter makes a good boat, that's why they are still in business. If you do the normal checking out of the package, it should serve you well.

My first boat was a 99 ZX202C that a friend is running now with no problems. Great boats with a great motor.

ive had 2 of the zx202c. they were a little heavier than the zx225 that followed them, so that gave them a little better ride IMO. 68-70mph top speed. great boat. I loved mine. last one had a merc 200 efi on it and it ran great. first one had a 200 proV on it and it ran great after I had the block replaced (cracked block that expanded when hot causing crazy intermittent issues until it finally cratered). I miss my last one. had a hydraulic jackplate on it and could really make the thing perform to its optimum.

I have one, so I am biased. I think it is a great hull and am not sure I would part with it. It a debate I have with some buddies. There are newer and faster boats out there, but I love the fishability and layout of it.
