What size strut for engine cowl

I am replacing the struts on my boats engine cover. Guessing that it weighs about 50lb. With two struts if each one was rated at 50 would that be sufficient to assist and hold up?

Check for a model number on your struts and match. Look closely, its usually on one end or the other. With the model number, you can search and get direct replacements.

Or take it off and cross reference it at an auto part store.

I found the model # on them...30" 65lb. Ordered them 25$ each
