Very true.

I have about 8 of them and I bought them at Academy. I only use them in the rod locker.

Rod Armorz are made with a dipped end so the Hooks won't snag and they also have a tighter compression to keep them from "flying off". They have better/thicker filaments for a better product. American Made and Locally produced.

I just got back in the office from buying some woven wire loom from the local electric supply house. 40 cents a foot. You could probably get it cheaper online. Run a piece of heatt shrink on the end to close it up and you get build your own.

The wire loom is cool, but it's too "open" when expanded, frays easily on the cut end, and the heat shrink tubing is way too thin to secure the end neatly. Trust me. I use the stuff every day and I've tried to make my own. I decided it's worth $5 to get them made correctly and not have to deal with a homemade solution.

Not to mention that you need a good hot knife to cut it and then the open end is still an issue.
