My first post but a long time lurker. Any suggestion for fishing Lake LBJ; below Inks Lake dam? I'm not looking for honey holes, just suggestions for throwing artificial baits for black bass and I'll have a boat. I'm spending a few days up there with the family. We normally leave TX for our summer vacations but his year we decided to keep it in central TX. I normally fish Conroe, Fayette, and also love the saltwater. Thanks in advance.

Be careful up there. Many shoals just under the water and in the middle. I would use your trolling motor until you are comfortable. Good luck.

I fish out of blue lake area and we cover the entire lake. I don't fish in the middle of the summer but my go to bait is a white or clear swim bait with enough weight to get it down fairly quick. Good luck!

i mostly fish the sandy creek part of LBJ. Soft plastics around docks is my most consistent way to catch fish. Fishing dock lights at night is pretty productive.

Fishing LBJ in the summertime is not for the weak. You need to be ready to be rocked big time by the pleasure boaters during the day. My suggestions are soft plastics around docks and fishing at night.

My fishing partner and I fish all over lake LBJ all year.
Summer time is skipping docks, main lake points and deep structure with the exception of an occasion grass close to deeper water.
Fish early and in the evenings unless a windy/breezy day, fish all day then only if you can stand up because of the lake traffic.
The difference between men & boys is the price of their toys.
