What does catching a lot of "dinks" mean? When I say dinks I mean undersize fish less than 10 inches. I'm not talking about just in one area or just one day I'm talking about when you go out week after week and on the day you go out you fish multiple areas.

It means there have been some good spawns the last couple of years (which there has been because of the high water in the spring). It can also mean that you aren't fishing the right cover, right depth or the right bait (could be a combo of all 3). If you are referring to Lavon, I would fish the deeper timber in 15-25 ft with bigger baits. You should catch some better sized fish.

I have heard a lot of people say its an indication that there was a good spawn and I understand that to me that would make sense but then why would I not also be catching keeper size fish?

Probably wrong depth, location or type of cover.

I usually find that when a lot of dinks are at one spot put on a heavier jig to get below them where the larger ones are iF they are in the area.
