I am looking to trade my 859ci hd di for a 859ci. I run this unit on the bow and my terrova ipilot killed my transducer cable. I ran it down that little channel, but have been fighting with it for 2 years now. I would prefer just to trade it because I have it networked with an 899, so it needs to stay in the legacy family. I only need the head end, because I have ordered the cable to connect to the usb transducer in the terrova. The DI units aren't really compatible with the built in transducer, so I would prefer just to trade head end units with someone. I'll throw in the transducer with the eat up wire if you want it..lol. Thought maybe one of you guys might want a cheap way to upgrade to DI, all you would need to buy is the transducer. I can meet you anywhere around the metroplex.

You can use your head unit with the built in transducer, you just want get DI but it will still work just fine. I have a 898 SI that I use with mine.

Yeah. The SI units and the regular units use different frequency than the DI units. At least that is what Humminbird says.

Don't you have a Connected Transducer setting for Dual Beam or HB 83/200 kHz ?

Yes, it has a dual beam option, but this is what the humminbird site says about compatibility.
NOTE: Minn Kota motors with built-in Universal Sonar 2 (including those with i-Pilot Link) are not compatible with Humminbird's Down Imaging Sonar. An external XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T (83/200) or XTM 9 DI 25T (200/455) is required for all sonar readings with all HELIX 12 , HELIX 10, HELIX 9, 1100, 900, and 800 Humminbird Down Imaging units. An external XTM 9 DI 25T transducer would be required for the Down Imaging versions of the HELIX 7 and HELIX 5 along with the 788ci HD DI.

You can use your current head unit with the dual beam transducer. All it is saying is in order to use the DI function you would need the DI transducer. I have used a side imaging unit and a DI unit on a regular dual beam transducer and had 0 issues.
