Good luck. I have a 3 1/2 car garage and can't use it for my 17' boat. I just use a cover why cant you make that work bobby? is it too much trouble grtting it in and out?

Yeah. My garage is in the back corner with a steep drive and a 90 degree turn to get it in. Neighbors back fence butts up against my drive and it drops off so I don't have the room to make the turn. Plus, the double door is on the inside of the bend and the single door is on the outside and it isn't wide enough to use. I've looked into getting an electric trailer dolly but I'd have to move the wifes car to the road every time I wanted to get it in or out. Not worth the hassle. I looked into putting up a carport in the corner of the drive and just remove it when I sell the house. Could have gotten one installed for around $700 but didn't want to go through the permit hassle. I ended up picking up a temporary carport when harbor freight had them on sale for $99. It's actually been pretty good so far. I think I'll probably get maybe 2 years out of it before I have to replace the cover. Between it and the cover it is pretty well protected.
I almost did the RV thing at Fork but didn't want to leave the boat and most of the ones that I talked to did not allow you to leave the boat when you weren't there and I'd have to rent a boat storage there.
What is behind the garage? I have seen where people kicked out a section of the wall for the outboard so they could park their boat inside just one side of it.

That's what I did bumped out a 4 foot section for the outboard works great. I told the wife she's lucky that the garage didn't back up to the master bed wall, she'd be rolling over kissing my Mercury.

I wanted a 20' boat, but ended up with the z7. It fits in the garage straight with the engine down and the tongue folded. I measured everything first. I have exactly 1'' of room for the door to close. I could have got a little longer with the boat at an angle, but didn't want to go through all the hassle of moving the boat around to go fishing. I hook up, pull forward, raise the motor and I'm gone.

The width of the boat trailer comes into play. I calc approx 26ft down the center. But the trailer or boat will prolly hit the wall and not allow u to use the full 26 ft. U have to know the measurement of the trailer width to figure it all out. I'm sure a 19+ft boat will fit, thinking 20 is gonna be your limit.

I have a 18.5' BassCat/150hp I can fit it a 22' x 22' garage (trimmed down and max turn) plus my wife's Nissan Altima. All the houses that we looked at that are split double car garages, the width is 8 feet which will not work at the trailer is a little over 9 wide. Basically had to custom build just to be able to store my boat!! HA HA

It houses the front of his Vette. He paid so much for it that he wanted to make it a display when I'm the garage. Actually looked pretty cool

Yep, that's why we live in this house, 25'X 30' garage. I'm up north waiting on house to sell, wife calls about house she found down here, get on internet look at pics, yadda yadda, ask you like house says yes, ask how much room ya need for boat, said 22-6 she says it's 25 deep, said buy it. Plus had pool. Lucky me.

When buying our house we had to have at least 1 big door and had to be able to fit my boat. There were only 9 houses in the general area we wanted to live that fit that description when we were looking.

on a side note has anybody added a carport or something similar to the front of a single story 2 car garage basic brick home just to get their boat out of the direct sun? my neighborhood is very basic and i have personally never seen one in my area. i know it can be done just wondering if it will be an eyesore in my basic neighborhood.
