Been to this lake a number of times and have been behind dam in river traveling from Hamilton. Love that cool breeze off of the discharged water in the river. Any TFF'ers have any info on fishing the tailrace there? Or how would you Fish right now on main lake with no live bait? Knowing it is not prime season...thanks in advance ***Sorry Tournament Anglers I usually don't mess with Unders***

In the fall when they release trout there, you can catch some monsters. Seen a 48lb fish and a few 30lb plus fish pulled out of the river below Quachita back in 2006 at a Regional Tournament for the National Striped Bass Association. I took 4th in that event. Hamilton was tough back then, I believe only 6-7 teams out of 40 or 50 teams caught fish. Quachita main lake has great action and a lot more stripers than Hamilton (I would recommend going there). Things may have changed at Hamilton since then.

I went to high school near there and would go over there in the summer it would a 100 degrees an 95% humidity and you would think I will just wade fish the river, and you couldn't get to the top of your ankles it was so cold. There should be ice floating in that water.
