Boat I bought has a Motorquide with the rubber handle. The rubber is soft and marks up the lid to my rod locker when I open it. It is also kind of sticky. Anyone else have this issue? I called Motorquide and asked them if this was a common issue but they would not even talk to me without a serial number. I soured on surveys a while back and swore I would never answer another one but I should have filled out the Motorquide one. I just wanted answers to a few general ?s. It might have gotten to an alternative handle for the model and in that case I can understand the need for a serial number. I would just put my Minn Kota extension on it but I have to remove the extension to open the rod box.

Try using material they wrap golf club handles with? Just a thought.

I found out that is usually caused by Deets found in mosquito spray. No cure, have had binoculars ruined due to that. I have found the serial number on Motorguide inside the lid if you can't find it anywhere else.
