So you had a boat when you were 6 ?

I was 22 and hate to admit it but I was on boat #3 by then!!

Ken you must be 3 or 4 months older than me. If recall I was 21, also on boat #3, grin

Both of you guys had way too much money. Three boats by age 22 ? All I could afford was a tractor inner tube and a paddle. Poor people have poor ways. My family was so poor our next door neighbor had me.

I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed.

I used to fish Monticello quite a bit after that big mama was caught.
Met the man once down there.

It did light a fire.

Speaking of which: Bonus points to those that remember the fireman from Ft. Worth that caught so many lunkers back then.
Has a spot on Monticello named after him. Hint: think old reels.

GO!!

You might want to read back a few posts. It's already been discussed by all these old guys this post is about. Hahaha

Ha! Not too much money, just no good sense! My first "boat" was a 12' Jonboat, second was a 15' Duckhawk with a 55 Chrysler. My 3rd was a '74 Ranger TR10 with a Johnson 135. That's what I spent my early years on Monty fishing from.

I sold it to a buddy, then he sold it to his father, then he turned around and sold it to another friend of mine. That old Ranger is still fishing!!

LoL...
1st. 14 ft Ryancraft Jon boat with 5 hp Eska from Sears, green box lowrance flasher.
2nd. used 1972 17.3 Invader tri hull w/55 hp Evinrude
3rd. used 1976 Tidecraft 18 footer (hit the big time) w/135 hp Evinrude..
I still have the tidecraft, it's been restored once, now it just sits on my brothers place wasting away. It was one of John Fox's old boats.. Red/White/Blue with a Texas Flag cowling, blue turf.. Kewl old boat in its day...

After the 80s beat down the people that lived there called that wall that's inside that store the wall of shame because of all the fish that didn't make it bake into the lake.
