Do you leave your "red flag" on the yak while you fish? I've noticed this a lot on youtube videos. I always remove mine, not sure why exactly? I guess I feel like it will last longer that way or something? ?

I remove my red flag mainly because it is one less thing to get caught up on.

I just fold mine back inside the kayak while on the water.

I just leave mine on and it hangs down in the water. It is made from some sort of plastic, not cloth.

Mine is made out of heavy duty canvas, I take it off if I use the bed extender.

I leave mine on most of the time simply because I forget to take it off.

I take it off unless I forget then it stays on. Done that a bunch of times. The flag I use now I got in 2012. It's made from canvas cloth and it's been probably 40,000 miles at least. The coast a bunch of times. Arkansas, Oklahoma, and all over Texas every weekend. Still in great shape.

I just leave mine on and I have a different one on each of our Yaks.

On the Hobie PA12 is a Mariner Sails, on the Big Tuna is the stock Jackson flag, and on the others are ACK 12 x 12 flags.

Off. Don't wanna excite any angry bulls.......

It really doesn't matter either way. I fish with guys who leave them on and with guys who remove them. None of them have had any issues.

Remove the flag. In my mind, this is equivalent to running a boat with the fenders hanging over the side. It's sloppy seamanship.
