Fished the jetty yesterday afternoon and it was absolutely nuts. Huge groups of free-swimming shrimp everywhere you looked....by the thousand. Never seen anything quite like it. And of course, everything was eating them. In around 3 hours I saw, specks, smacks, bluefish, pompano, ladyfish, ribbonfish, jacks, sand trout, spadefish, sheepshead, and small sharks all landed. Even saw a snapper caught. Water was clear and blue in the channel, green and as clear as I've seen it on the oceanfront. At one point I caught 6 fish in 9 casts with a silver spoon. Wish I was there RIGHT NOW.

Glad you got to experience that. Happens very rarely. Makes for a lot of great fishing stories later though.

Going to be at surfside starting this Saturday for about a week. Looks like the prospects for catching fish in the surf are pretty good. We have had pretty good success in years past. Has fishing been pretty steady here lately?

wish i was there too. we fished west bay and only had 2 trout in 4 hrs. we've been doing really well on an incoming tide, but not yesterday.
