I was wondering if this is a good setup first I put 3 slip wieghts I got off a old castnet followed by a bead then the main line tied to a barrel swivel attached to another line attached to a wire double drop leader here s two pics of it because I couldn't get it all on one

I don't see why not! The more you have it in the water the better the chances

It's a weight and hooks on the bottom, so it might work, but the wire leader are really unnecessary. Save money and use mono and spend the money on sinkers.

I actually have plenty of sinkers but no mono leaders I was thinking of getting me some sinker slides the next time I go fishing for cats

Especially if you get hung up a lot!...I'd save the wire leader for fishing down at the coast.

Don't buy leaders. Just buy a spool of 30-50 lb mono and use that. And my opinion is sinker slides are just more money that end up at the bottom of the lake. Just a marketing gimmick.

See the thing is catfish don't know what kind of rig your running. With that in mind any rig become game for experimentation. +1 on the mono leaders. Much cheaper.

I run a 15 lb mono leader on 40 lb braid. That way I only lose a hook when I snag on whatever is on the bottom of the Tennessee River. Believe me, there's lots of things to snag on below G dam.

I'm the opposite I run 50 to 80lb mono leaders on 30lb mono main line. Holds my santee rig up better I think and it holds up better against abrasions. Still a lot cheaper than wire or pre made leaders.

I run a 100 lb braid yellow hi-vis line what's a 2 ounce flat weight Carolina rig setup then anywhere from the 30 to 80 lb leader. Run a circle hook and bait clicker Abu Garcia.

I've seen it done before! Took a friend once who was just getting into catfishing and had his rig with two lead weights and a plastic coated weight from a cast net, just as I was heckling him about it his rod went down and he boated a nice big bluecat. That fish didn't seem to mind it.
