What are some options to keep soft plastics from sliding down hook shank? I use a 3/0 EWG and I keep having to reposition the plastic every few casts.

Heat shrink tubing at bend with a tapered point that keeps the plastic from sliding down.

1) try hooks that have a separate twist lock for the plastic, 2) push the plastic bait above the hook eye, or 3) use a drop of super glue. Good Luck!

Give Trapper Tackle or Trokar Magworm hooks a look

Use a snell knot. The line wraps will help grip the bait.

Mustads pin grip hook, or try some of the bait minder glue, I use the glue on my Alabama rig swim jigs, it's very good!

One more is to buy jig hooks with a 60 degree bend at the eye, and Owner CPS centering pins in the medium size . . . and screw your plastic worm on to the holding pin, then pass it through the body as usual.

It'll hold the bait very firmly and it has the added advantage of giving the fish a bit more bite area, a softer bite, too.

My first thought as well. The only time I've ever had issues was when I was starting out and put too much or too little hook thru the nose when rigging

Get the parasite they work great and are cheap. And I caught a fish with it on accident, it got off the hook and cashed a 200 check because of it.

Try the skip gap hook that Gammi makes-it will stop any slipping and improve your hooksets.
