I wish all of the libs moving here would read this thread first. Maybe they would pick MN instead. Oh, and the Vikings are just the greatest football team, too! Lol

I personally don't like having to figure eight a lure at the boat to get a bite or throw a red devil spoon.

Maybe you wanna bring a few boats up to Minneapolis and have a little derby? I'll put it together for you to stay up here for a few days.

Do you like fishing grass, are you good at finding hard bottom?

And you'll probably jump at least a foot high if you even get a sight of a big muskie! You'll jump too high to do a figure eight that is below the water! I personally have yipped several times.

Dang good way to loose spooks and jigs so bring plenty. Fishing here is now just prime early summer post spawn and usually stays good thru August or so. Then you wouldn't believe how pretty it gets in early Oct. With a full moon? Hold on to you stick man!

Well...we got that settled.

Back to bass fishing, bird hunting, babe watching and beer drinking.

Here's to Texas!

Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

I love the way a lot of the Texans are sure to defend their own state. Fishing is good both states.

MN gets the fishing pressure too, come on, where do tourists like to go fishing in the summer?

Revenues from fishing are really huge in both states and comparable. see

I'm with the guy who said he'd like to be north in the summer and south winter-spring

I think a lot of the reason we Texans "defend our state" is about much more than fishing. For some it's the fact they do not like liberal leftist governed states.

It's a Texas thing, we are proud of who we are, well those of us from here not the transplants wink

Come on you guys somebodies got a vacation coming up this summer, or maybe we should have a get together if you wanna haul your boat up to the smallmouth fest on Mille Lacs?

Fishing is better this summer tho.

OK, brainstorm we'll get at least a 4 boat matchup TX/MN and for a free trip some genius on here will video the thing and we'll start a new reality show!

I will say this. Lived just north of MSP and had 30 to 50 lakes just minutes from my house, and in the summer it stays light till 9:45PM so fishing after work was easy.

This subject may need to be revisited. Spoiler alert for yesterday's episode

It took a 5 pound average to win the BASS event up there last season. I doubt you have ever caught a 5 pound smallie in tx.

Plus the chance to target 50" musky and no crackheads to steal your gear at the ramp, sounds like heaven to me.

eeks......... there have been some pretty damn big smallies from Texas and absolute giants from other southern states..... look up Georgia. I myself have caught one right at 5 lbs. in Texas.
