fish on a weekend. Good grief at the boats. Had just pulled up to my first brush pile and threw a jig out when another boat idled up close. Invited them to fish the pile with me and eventually they did. Couple nice guys. Fishing was a little slow so I moved on to the next pile and boated some slabs on that one. When I decided to move again I barely got my marker up when another boat pulls up on the pile. haha. I reckon I'm spoiled fishing on weekdays. Caught several fish today and brought home 15 for my neighbor. Blue Ice caught the most but Electric Chicken caught the big uns. Dock shooting was nil today...brush piles were the ticket and the best depth was around the 12 ft. mark. Oh yeah, Lake Murvaul (but don't tell anyone).

Same here, but I was anxious to get on the water and get acquainted with my new Raymarine Axiom. Went to Joe Pool and my head was on a swivel watching out for the ski boats and jet fleas!

I think I'll wait until Monday for more time on the water

Nice!!...it was good to see you...we caught one catfish, then i pulled the kids on a tube until they couldn't see straight...we left at 10:30 before it got to busy.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Thanks Troy. Saw you skipping those kids across the water. It got so hot later, I was ready for someone to skip me across the water. roflmao

How did you do? I was on JP today too. Caught about 20 but only a handful of keepers. Only really fished for about an hour though. Had my in laws out with us today so we mostly swam.

What was the name of the plastic you were using? Blue Ice and Electric Chicken brand if you don't mind sharing.

Don't mind sharing at all....the Electric Chicken was a hand tied jig and the Blue Ice was a Bobby Garland plastic. Blue Ice with a pink jig head works well on this lake in the summer time.

I hit the south bridge (gotta stay out of the sun) for a couple of hours and caught about a dozen, but only a couple of keepers.

I'll always share a spot when crappie fishing. I hate when the pleasure boats come right by you on plane. I was fishing Ray Roberts one day with my boys in my 20ft bass boat on 1 end of a brushpile and a little 12ft or so aluminum boat with a couple of people pulled up and started fishing the other end of the same pile. Then a ski boat comes flying right between us. I let it go and then they went down a way and turned around headed right back at us. I told my boys to put their poles down and hold on. After the ski boat went between us again I took off and chased them down and gave them a harsh yelling at. I wasn't too worried about my boat as they came between us, but that poor little aluminum boat, I thought they were gonna sink if that [censored] kept up.
I can't believe some people are so ignorant....
