I'm going to Sommerville on Sunday for the first time. Can anyone offer any current lake conditions and maybe what the bass are doing this time of year? I'm not sure what type of structure the lake has so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the tip BMCD. Do you know what type of cover is on this lake? I have not been before so I'm looking for an idea of what/where to target.

Weekends are tough with all the rec boats and drunks, but I am still catching fish early off the bank until around 9-10, then move out deeper off points, lake doesn't have a lot of big features but you can catch fish about anywhere, I am a spinner bait guy but then go to plastic, works for me, I am thinking about a night trip Sunday with the full moon
Good luck

Wanted to follow up on this thread. We went out Sunday and struggled to get on a good pattern. This was my first time on the lake. We fished mainly from mid lake to the lower end. Started shallow with moving baits and ended the day fishing plastics and Carolina rigs. Fished quite a few deeper rock piles near points. Only caught a few fish with the biggest being right at 6 pounds off a Carolina rig lizard. I really liked the lake and am looking forward to spending more time on it trying to figure it out.

I'm gonna be in your shoes in a couple of weeks. I have never laid eyes on that lake but I'm gonna give it a try. I will probably fish Gibbons on Fri, Sat and Sunday and hit Sommerville Mon, Tues and Wednesday. I'm just looking forward to getting on the water in the evenings after I get done with my classes at A&M.
