I've been hunting in Kent County, TX for several years now & have recently bought a house in Jayton to use during hunting season. This peaked my interest in White River Reservoir due to the convince (34 miles from hunting house). There is very little to no information on the internet & absolutely none about crappie. The TPW survey from 2015, post fill up, said the lake has a good crappie population. So, this past weekend I tried to pull some cranks on WR for summer crappie & completely struck out. Water clarity was absolutely horrible due to recent rains. It was down right muddy. I'm hoping that was the problem. Anyone have any Crappie info for this lake?

to the forum! I.m still learning but I'd tend to agree with you about the condition of the water.Might consider trying a variety of baits, including live bait till you find what they want. good luck!

Welcome to the forum. I haven't fished White River since last winter, when I fished the crappie house. Had a couple of good days there and also got skunked. Last report I heard was from a friend with a dock there. He said it was very slow. That was shortly before it started raining, so I'm not sure what the fresh water will do. Hopefully the lake will come up some. Another buddy of mine fishes WR pretty regularly, so I'll post if I hear any reports from him.
