So everybody knows that allowing the motor to sit idle for long periods of time is not good for the life of the motor. I've always tried to run my motor at the LEAST for a couple hours a month(10 per month during prime fishing). I just had the motor rebuilt and I'm wondering if that's still correct with work and it being summer and hard to get out if 2 hours a month is ok? 10 hours of " break in" time...

Its a myth. What's harmful to your motor is fuel that sits for long periods of time.

Worst thing in the world IMO is for a motor to sit long periods with old fuel in it.
If going into storage for extended period crank the motor and disconnect the gas line and let her run until all the fuel is out of the lines/carb etc. The fuel left in a carb float bowl will turn to jelly over time and the repair ain't cheap. Same with EFI. Anything left in the fuel pumps is muy bad for it.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
