Went to Athens this morning to fish out a rod and reel that was accidentally kicked over last night. Was lucky and finally snagged it after an hour of dragging but when I got back to the ramp the drivers side fender was smashed in on my basscat trailer. I was sick. No note on the truck. Did anybody happen to be there and see who did this?

Man that sucks. I bought a $20 dash cam that will record about 24 hours that I put in the back window looking at my trailer. Hasn't caught any problems yet, but hopefully if someone hits my truck or trailer it will tell the tale.

Pisses me off.

Boat ramp losers. Someone dinged my truck bumper at a Thursday nighter. Nothing major, but it was the first damage of any kind since I bought the truck.

WHY CANT PEOPLE FESS UP TO THIS [censored]??

Sucks. At least you retrieved the rod and wasn't a total loss

Dash cams are worth every dollar, I've had mine for almost a year but only faces forward. After reading this I need to get one for the back too.

I had someone park so close to me that I had to crawl across their trailer to get in my truck. Looking at their trailer as I pulled out I saw one of their bunk boards completely broke off at one end, trailer over all in disrepair. I guess if they don't care about their stuff they won't care about yours.

Sorry they hit your rig... i hate that cr@p x1000.

Hate to say it but its that time of year. The ramps are full of the floating stereo boxes and the only once maybe twice a year pontoons. I watched a group of 6-8 folks loading all their "stuff" one cooler/bag at a time while parked on the ramp (two lane ramp)while there was at least 5-6 boats deep waiting to launch. They were oblivious to their surroundings. We are not gonna win that fight.

I'm thinking back and front as well, but would that actually give you their license plate number? I don't think so, I guess the front one might, I don't have any at all yet, are they fairly wide angle, i.e. if someone drove forward pulling out of their spot and turned away from you, would you see the back of their truck in the recording?

That's a great idea. Also a great idea for parking a boat around a motel at the lake for a night or two as well. Smart.

Mine is wide angle, covers about 135* which is a lot. Suggest you get a name brand like Garmin, etc. and the larger the screen the better. Mine has a mini SD card that I can put in my computer to save the video. Fry's, Best Buy locally and there's always Amazon and Ebay online.
