I had Nathan and his Dad out today for a crappie trip on Ray Roberts. The storms passed just before we launched for the morning and we almost had the lake to ourselves most of the day. We hit 5 brush piles and boated close to 300 crappie. They ended up with 30 nice keepers with a 16" 2 plus lb monster slab and several other big crappie as well. Lots of 9 3/4" fish thrown back today. The majority of the fish were caught on jigs. Minnows did produce some fish as well. Lost a giant largemouth that looked close to 12 lbs that threw the jig. Landed 2 more really nice largemouth. They also caught several drum, some perch and a channel. Awesome day of fishing. www.ntxfishing.net to book your trip.
