Ive seen several packs of vmc on the shelf that have had rolled points

I use trokar mostly some owner depending on wht im doing don't ever have a problem with hook set // im trying a new one now Trapper haven't been impressed at all so far but yes my pick would be trokar

Owner and gammi-I do have some trokar hooks and they're OK but don't live up to all the hype IMO.

Trokar by far. They are the sharpest hooks undeniably, I get the best hook penetration over other brands even on weak "reel into the fish" type hooksets. Although I have found that they are much harder to get out of the fishes mouth 😂

I use Trokar myself, no problems with rusting, pitting or rolling barbs. Of course I don't keep the same hook on forever.

Things like that companies will go out of the way to fix if they actually happen.

I switched 3 years ago from Gamakatsu to Trokar and have been very happy with the results. In my experience Trokar's take a lot less effort to penetrate the Bass's mouth and my percentage of lost fish went way down...in fact, I can't remember the last time I lost a Bass on a single hook Trokar.
I have experienced a few Trokar hooks rusting...but never a rolled tip or dull point unless I set the hook into something other than a fish. Most of the time I am amazed at how many fish I can catch and the Trokar hook point stays sharp.
I still use Gamakatsu EWG Wide Gap Treble hooks on my crankbaits, and I only use the Owner Down Shot Offset Hooks for drop shot, but for the majority of my fishing...I use the Lazer Trokar EWG worm hook.

I tried Trokar, just not the right hook for me... don't know if its a confidence thing or what, but it seemed like I was constantly having to re adjust my bait and tuck the point back in. Also had a few that the point rolled over on, not on fish but from hooking some of the shallow cover I was fishing due to the point working its way out of my bait. I shouldn't have to change hooks on a T Rig because I accidentally hooked a log and rolled the tip. I'm back to good ole Gamakatsu Super line, I set the hook plenty hard to drive those bad boys home through any part of a fishes head.

This. There's no question that Trokars aren't some of, if not THE sharpest hooks out there.

My problem is that if you're at any kind of angle during the hookset, it slices more than it stabs.

I like the Trokar flippin' hooks but I tend to only use them during tournaments when I know I'll be pitching into heavy cover. As mentioned, they wear out plastics very quickly and do get hung more often than other types of hooks. But, they also usually get really solid hook-ups, it doesn't take much force to bury them, and they do not bend (I have heard of a few people who broke one on fish, but I have not personally seen it happen).

I have noticed a higher tendency to rust on Trokar's than Gamakatsu's; usually at the eye where an old knot remains, like you said.

So, I keep a small number of them for tournament day but I rarely use them otherwise.

P.S. To clarify, I haven't used anything but the Flippin' hooks from Trokar, so my perspective on the brand is a little narrow.

So Troker's are too sharp?

One more thing. I never use a hook that was bent out. Having worked with steel for many years, I can say that if you bend steel, you weaken it. So, for me, a bent hook means it's time to take that one off and put on a new one.

For me, they work too much like a broadhead...they cut in too many directions. I wouldn't use them for free!!!

If they work for you....have at it....but you will not see them in my gear.

For me the Trokars were going through the fish then getting hung up on branches and trees causing me to lose a lot of fish.
