My wife and I floated the Frio this past weekend and did some fishing along the way. We were targeting bass all day but managed a couple of nice sunfish along the way. I did not get a picture of mine. But this one went 0.95 lbs on my scale. Great fishing and even better scenery made for a heck of a trip.

Nice fish and super times. It just don't get any better! I love fishing the Frio!

She didn't measure her fish for some reason  I would guess close to 12" or so.

She didn't measure her fish for some reason I would guess close to 12" or so. Weight Record for the Frio River is .94 Lbs. There is no Catch&Release record for the Frio. That fish would have been the first Catch&Release Record if submitted with pictures of length,angler holding fish,and completed application. Minimum lenght for a Catch&Release sunfish is 10". Again super fish and a super job by your wife for catching it.

I thought about the record book but we threw it back without doing our due diligence like dummies! LOL. I guess when the 2-3 pound bass are biting you overlook the sunfish a bit.

Yes Sir. Not many anglers target sunfish! Side Note: They are super fun to catch especially on ultra lights and Fly Rods.
