Nope, never done it, but fur sure if you start out on high pressure it will rip the carpet right off!! on my little electric karcher I can adjust the pressure down to about the same as a regular garden hose sprayer. I'm sure that would be pretty safe. I would pre treat with a moderately strong detergent solution such as Awesome or some of that purple stuff or maybe simple green using maybe a one or two gallon sprayer.. I use Awesome with good results and it's cheap. Maybe a little squirt on the grease spots and a little brushing. Without knowing your situation, I would think that a regular hose sprayer would do 90% of what you need done?? Don't know if the pressure on those large gas powered washers can be turned down?? I would start out on the low side with whatever I used.

I would not. The method I use is:
Rinse with a hose. Use a soft brush and a water/Dawn solution (not much of the Dawn). Rinse thoroughly. Most important: Vacuum it dry with a Shop Vac. You will be amazed how much dirt it pulls out.
My boat is 8 years old and the carpet still looks good.

Shouldn't a done that with my 2000 psi pressure washer. Knocked some fibers loose but not much. Carpet still stuck down good. Oh well, one of these days it will get a non-skid floor coating like it should have had in the first place.

Mix 1 part vinegar and 5 parts water. Soak the carpet and scrub it with a hard brush. It get's rid of all minerals from the water and makes the carpet look great. Use Resolve for any spots that don't come-out.
or Tide with fabric softener..

I do it on my skeeter, and too much pressure will damage the carpet. So if you can regulate it, it cleans the carpet perfectly.

Do not powerwash boat carpet! The stream will eat away at the adhesive and case the carpet to become slack and loose. A standard water hose and some mild soap like Dawn will work. Sadly, it is difficult to keep the carpet looking great unless you don't have kids and don't catch fish.

Well, after owning two boats with carpet, I am convinced that carpet in a boat should be illegal.
