Hadn't had the boat out but once all spring and summer, but finally got a window to head to Ray Roberts with a friend yesterday afternoon. Only my 2nd time fishing the lake, and I did SO much better than the first time. It was almost worth the lambasting I got from my wife when I rolled up to the driveway at 10 PM. Ended up with 7 Largemouth, 1 Channel Cat, and about 25 dink sandbass. Biggest bass was about 3.5 - 4 lbs and 20 inches long, 2nd biggest was about 17 inches. Caught the big one on a shakeyhead rigged with a purple fluke, right off those steep bluffs/rocks near the east side of the dam, and caught the other nice at the dam rip-rap one on a watermelon baby brush-hog. We ran across an acre of surface schooling sandies on the way to the ramp, caught them on topwaters until the sun was about to go down. What a great day.... Can't wait to really figure out my new favorite lake!

Maybe he wanted some bass to eat.

Those 2 legal bass were set free to swim another day... And they appreciate the concern for their wellbeing ... not that it's anyone else's business but mine.

Nice fish sir. Glad someone else enjoys the hidden secrets of the lake. It will get tough some times but all lakes do

Only one other thing will put a smile that big on a man's face. Way to go Brocephus. And you're right it's nobody's business what you do with your catch. You just need to go more often.
