Hello Guys. I am frequently a reader of this forum and so thankful for all the shared info. I have fished for black bass for years and just always unsuccessful. My dad and I always joke we are being tested and any other person would have found a new sport if they suck as much as us. I just got a new helix with sI and down image though and just through playing around the last couple weeks have been able to find a couple brush piles at my hometown Lake Weatherford and allow my kids the chance to actually catch a few fish. My son...just says..why do we go...when we just won't catch. He is 8. So I have seen all these white bass and striper at PK and being a teacher in Millsap all these kids Facebook pages of them with huge and/or lots of fish. I want my kids 11 and 8 to experience that. I know hiring a guide is the best option...but again...I am a teacher. I am here for advise from anyone that might give it. Even broad info. Such as north/south part of lake, water depth. We are planning on being there at sun up tomorrow morning. Thanks so much guys in advance!!! Scott

We've been doing good mid lake on live shad. If you cant catch shad buy some perch at Tackle Depot in Wford. They are open until 7pm. I suggest buying them the day before and keeping them alive so you can be at the lake before or at daylight.

If live bait is not an option, use white/silver slabs, bendable is better if possible. Fish Rattlesnake point ,into Bee creek and along same point but west side or into Caddo. Watch the trees. Those areas have produced well of late, especially for mag sandies.

YOU GUYS ARE SO GOOD TO ME. I will plan on picking up live bait and regarding the points to target....I can't say thank you enough!!!!
When you say watch the trees....is it flooded timber to be on lookout for OR to make sure we are fishing in it??

First, if ur graph is set up as in arched for fish and fish symbols . When graph is set on down image , marking fish over timber can be tricky , unless u use s count method to drop and maintain ur live bait it slab just over their head . We use a pull method whereby u mark via tape or eye of pole @ 2 feet from reel. Count # of pulls to be just overhead of marked fish no bait . Wiggle , burn or just plain raise pole several feet above resting position and either wIt for tap or look for slack line Slack line means fish on. Live bait pit rod in holder or wait till pull down , much easier . U must pull hard to turn " angry eight lbers " as they head strait for the trees . Good luck

Put your baits down 16-18 feet and pull them above the trees on points between Caddo and the dam. Your bait most likely won't live below 18'. Don't worry if your marking fish below that. They will come to you. Caught 18 stripers today with this exact method. 3 over ten lbs so bring your good rods! I'll post pics in another thread.

Go to Cabelas or academy and get an LED green light. after you have used Randy Woods technique during the day, tie your boat up at the Courtesy dock or somewhere in about 10-15 feet of water and put that light out. Come back after supper when its dark and watch your kids have fun with the sand bass. Green lights work really well at PK. Minnows would be best for young kids but small white jigs work too.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

We tried!! Ugh. We had just one dozen shad and some minnows. Nothing on shad but one black bass on minnows. Super windy...I could not find them on graph either so my inexperience with that showed.
I appreciate the green light advise as well!! Super fun day though...Man what a beautiful lake with some magnificent homes!
Hoping to go back next week and try our luck again.
