My annual trip to Canada had to be canceled due to lack of funds and wife losing her job, so I decided on a short trip to Rayburn instead; except I've never been and I don't want to be lost. I've watched Ken Smith's videos, got the boat lanes chip for my graphs, but I could use any advice on how and where to fish the lake. Nothing specific is asked for, just don't want to waste the limited time and resources I have. PM's are welcome, thanks!

This is going to sounds cliche' but you can catch bass just about anyway you want to right now. There are plenty of willows, buck brush and hay grass to flip or throw a frog in. If you want to throw a swim jig, spinnerbait or square bill, you can find plenty of hydrilla.
We saw some fish starting to school Saturday evening, so maybe you'll be fortunate enough to come across some of them.

I will be glad to help you as I have won several tournaments in the past on Rayburn and have the lake mapped. Please send me an email at: fishnteacher@gmail.com

On the left side of 147, over by jackson hill marina, there are a set of Islands. In the morning poppers are awesome and then when it starts getting over 80-85 degree air temp switch to football head jig or deep diving crank. Had my PB there for 2 years off a popper until Friday.

Topwater in morning and evening. Always have trap ready for schoolers this time of year. Go deep or stay shallow fishing how you want mid day. Can be long hot days out there but never seems to fail if you fish hard you might catch a dozen all day and hit school early or late and catch 50 in short period.
