I'm not an expert on this, but I do want to say I can feel your frustration. All these electronics are getting so very complicated with all the different models and transducers. SI/DI/2D/3D/360/Panoptix transom mount/TM mount/thru hull. regular or mega. And on and on and on. mad

I do think that transducer isn't going to make it long if you fish stumpy lakes. I would suggest getting some kind of shield to put around it. You can buy one or do like I did and make something from scrap. Not pretty but effective.

Yes you can use it, it's just not preferred by HB. The trolling motor specific transducer has additional RFI blocking built into it.

They are installing the transducer saver tomorrow along with some other stuff. I'm just frustrated with the interference I am getting, and it is ruining my fishing time! I hope I get it fixed tomorrow and it is something small that can be corrected and I can fish and use my electronics correctly!

The transducer shield and saver can help. Try that first before getting the puck transducer from HB. If you bought the units from the installer turn I would be a little pissed, but if they just installed what you brought them then I can't blame them. I had to wait 3 weeks on my transducer exchange before taking to installer.

I have the same setup with a shield saver and get the same interference you speak of....I was told to check fuse in trolling motor head....usually is a 3a and you can put a 5a on it. Also a piece of tire intertube between the transducer and trolling motor head could fix it....I haven't tried either one yet!

That is what they are going to install! I am going to ask a lot of questions tomorrow! I think I am going to opt for the tm transducer is what it looks like. Frustrating lol

Unfortunately there is a chance that just the transducer alone may not fix it. There a lot of things that can cause the interference. One thing that you wanna make sure is that the trolling motor power leads are as far away from any of the graph cables.

wrong transducer, just went thru this with my tournament partner on his skeeter. humminbird sent him the correct transducer and it fixed the problem immediately! the one he has now is square like a box.
