That's my problem...I've got a 12' jon boat with a cheap hummingbird depth finder that gives me good information...just not quite that detailed...so I end up struggling to determine what stuff is underneath me....

I'll have my truck paid off in a year and I've got my wife on the hook for me to get a new full size boat (that WILL be decked out with electronics)...it'll be a game changer for me.

Ernest...in your opinion, am I wasting my time building crappie condos out of PVC and 5gallon buckets? or should I just cut down a bunch of cedars.

My little 50hp has a hard time pulling those big ones off the bank! But, once you get'em to the spot - they have fish the next day!

Nice post Ernest!

I would rather die finding out there was no God than die finding out there is.

Thank you as always for sharing your expertise. I have been struggling out on the open water. This gives me some knowledge to help build a strategy.

Those piles had no fish at that time. I posted them just to show how they looked on sonar.

Ernest,

Thanks so much for your help last week during my training day on the water with you. It was a real treat and I learned a ton from you! Your summary is exactly what we discussed and serves as a great reference for me. I will no longer be using minnows ! smile Thanks again for teaching this beginner.

Regards,
Bill Campbell

Lowrance is the hook and bait company. I really don't like how they offer units and bare minimum them then they eat you up with upgrades to get what you wanted in the first place. Just put it up and be honest with what you are trying to sale. Ask a question at big box stores and you get contact Lowrance.
