Hello and thanks for having me. Ive just picked up crappie fishing and some supplies. Ive tried several had fulls of jigs, spoons and small cranks but 99 percent of what gets caught here is on small shinners. My rig is just a small slip sinker with a swivel for a stop and 10-12" of light fluorocarbon line to a #2-#4 lazersharp. I usually nose hook my minnows and that seems to work well. I bought a 90 led light and was wondering how to properly use it. Should i start in 18-20 foot of water and fish well under the light, as well as on the outside edge of the light with the light only a foot or so deep? Need some help here guys my wife landed a 2.25# crappie and I cant let her have all the fun 😄
Thanks for any pointers. If you know of a rig better than a lazersharp under a carolina rig, please do share!!
Nate

Nothing wrong with your set-up.
I'm a big fan of Matsuo sickle hooks, rather for jigs or minnows. Needle sharp, light wire hooks.
Be sure and try fishing with jigs...nothing better than feeling the thump.

Thank you for your response.
Do you have a jig that you could recommend? Spend a little time reading this crappie forum...all you need to know is right here. Best group of guys and gals crappie fishing in Texas, and they all share their information. Chartreuse is a prime color, either solid, or mixed with another color.
