I am a photographer but left my pro gear at home and shot all of these with the Sony RX 100 V pocket camera. On family vacations hauling around tripods and a huge bag of gear annoys everyone. After a 5000 mile road trip hitting 3 national parks I can highly recommend this camera IF you know your way around a DSLR and camera setting. This camera is also remarkable for video but I do very little of that... From what I understand this is also the best VLOG camera on the market. Weather was tough at Glacier and Going to the Sun Road was closed at in the middle (Avalanche to Jackson Glacier Overlook) which was bad luck (still 80' of snow ready to come sliding down the mountain).

Going to the Sun needs to be on everyone's bucket list. Put simply, it defines awesome. I spent my teen years in Southern Alberta and took many road trips to the W coast. During summer season, this was my favorite route (even though many miles out of the way). Camera required because you never want to forget the majesty of the peaks.
