I am exploring buying a new prop for my bass boat. I have worked with Mercury Marine to narrow down my options but its still multiple choices.

Any advice on how this process works?

Is there a dealer that has props you can rent to try out?

I just really want to make the right decision, especially at these prices.

Thanks,

Check with Mcgill Propeller there in Lewisville on Mill street.

What pitch do you have and what are you thinking of changing to?

What boat, motor etc?

I run a 2014 Nitro Z8 with a Mercury Optimax 200 with a Mercury Tempest Plus 25p.

I was really lucky to meet with one of the Mercury Prop Product Development Managers to help me identify what my best options were based on current boat performance numbers (i.e. WOT RPM and Top Speed). Now its time to test them out and see which one gives me the best performance.

The recommendation is going to a 23p. My choices are a Tempest Plus or waiting for the Fury to be released in a 23p.

My real dilemma is three blade or four blade. My Nitro has a 68 gallon fuel tank and 40 gallons of livewell. So, full boat and tournament load, the hole shot is a little slow.

I have talked to McGill before and they are great guys, but they don't carry very much stock. I have them looking for a used 23p Fury.
