J-Moe and I hit the Pedernales and had a little luck. The fish were a little slow but we managed to land a few!!

That was my first trip to the Pedernales. Thanks for the invite and showing me your favorite spots Alan.

The majority of my fishing is in still water and slow moving stained creeks so each time I fish one of these clear water rivers I learn something new. The learning experience is really enhanced when I have fellow fly fisherman to verify what was working and what wasn't. It was interesting that we both zeroed in a top water presentation without any movement. But in the end that little grasshopper pattern you were using worked better than my spider. I tied up some hoppers today. Match the hatch. Well done, I look forward to the next adventure.

Hunter or JMoe, I am not asking for your spots, but would you mind saying what section of the Pedernales your are fishing and where I could get access to it. My buddy, a single species bass fisherman, is tiring of summer fishing. So, if I continue to fish throughout the summer, I need to find a place not too distant from Austin where I can fish from the bank or wade like you are doing in the pictures. Thanks.

Hey Slowdown thanks for the post. We really don target any specific area in these various parks we fish. We do a lot of exploring and walking to look for new spots and most of the time there are no fish, I just post the highlights, LOL! But seriously I look at accessibility and convenience for my fishing. Google Earth is a big big help when I am looking at a new place to fish. I would try looking at the some of the smaller places that often are overlooked around where you live and see how you do. Good luck and tight lines!

Healthy looking RB's.

It's a lot of fun stalking fish while wading. I get impatient sometimes and walk right into fish. Hate seeing the mud swirl and the fish swimming away bang
