Was visiting family this weekend and did a little fishing. A few pics, no big ones, but got a nice variety. I believe the bird is a Yellow Crowned Night Heron?

I am catching tons of hybrid sunfish this year.

I need to take more pics when I'm fishing. I keep telling myself that one of these days I'm going to leave the fly rod in the car and just take my camera. In the last two weeks I've seen a young javelina bathing in the Guadalupe, several hawks and herons, and a herd of six or seven deer crossing the river. One of the deer had a real nice rack on it, too.

Can confirm the bird is a night heron as well.

Will- I make an effort to take a bunch of pictures. It comes second nature after a few times. I like to look back and see all the different colors on fish and wildlife shots are a bonus. Plus it helps me remember what I caught months later,

Thanks Curtis. I can't wait to get back there. Only got to fish it for a few hrs. Next time I'm going to block off the entire day.

I'm not sure what the definition is for Sunfish "Grand Slam" but I'm going to set a personal record of most species caught.
