Just wanted to give some credit where it's due. I had a guide break off of my Veracity and figured I'd see if Abu would cover it under warranty before I sent it off to be fixed. I didn't have the receipt and told them that I bought it back in 2015. I thought it was a long shot but low and behold they replied to my email and told me they would send me a brand new one if I paid the $10 shipping charge. Also, they said they did not have the same model Veracity in stock so they upgraded me to a Villain which is about $50 more than the Veracity.

There has been a lot of talk lately about poor customer service, especially with some of the higher end rod and reel manufacturers, so if anyone is looking to switch to a company that wont give you the run around don't overlook Abu Garcia. I've always liked Abu Garcia but now I am a customer for life!

I ordered a Veritas from them when they were on sale for $30. It showed up with a broken guide insert. I sent them pics and they said they would send me a new one, and also keep the rod I already had. They were also out of that model in Veritas rods, so they upgraded me to the same model Ike rod, which is $150. They definitely made me want to buy more Abu stuff.

That's interesting, I bought 4 of the same rods and had a broken tip. I asked to purchase a replacement tip so I could repair rod and instead they responded that they don't sell replacement guides or tips.

I have always heard great things about Abu Garcia service, yet I have never had to use them. I was disappointed in them to be honest. I have 10 SXs, STXs, and a Winch. Only non Abu reel is a Lews that I won.

Called Duckett and told them I needed to buy 3 replacement guides for a couple rods and they sent me 12 for free in the mail.

As luck would have it I had an identical rod broken in my garage. Was retying one day and the wind blew my compartment closed and slammed down on my rod. Thankfully I kept it.

So last weekend, I gathered up every broken rod I had and removed every single guide and tip that was in good shape and put together a little kit.

Now if I break a tip or a guide I can quickly repair them. I used to just throw my rods away, but I won't anymore without removing undamaged guides.
