The lake board is paying a [censored] ton of money to spray the whole lake. Anybody know anything about this? They are killing every bit of grass on the lake. I know they are spraying to kill giant salvinia, but in the process they are killing everything. Sure know how to F up a good lake. And to boot, they wont pay to fix the aerator at the dam. Go figure...democrats.

You'll just have to change your game...the board has always handled things differently....gotta roll with it.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

How bad is the Salvinia? That stuff is no joke, could choke out an entire lake the size of Murvaul in a matter of months if it goes unchecked. Its one of those darned if yo do darned if you don't things... from what I've seen the stuff they have to spray to kill the Salvinia doesn't discriminate and wipes out everything. So deal with a Salvinia take over or kill everything.

I haven't seen much Salvinia at all but don't get out there as much as i would like. I know there was some above the bridge and very little on the main lake. I heard the building is for board meetings. I'm sure its a nice cool place for them to dream up ideas of how to screw with us fisherman! lol! I haven't been in Stovalls/Doodlebugs either since the board took it over.

I used to fish caddo before the salvania ruined it, the best part of it anyways. I live on another lake now and if it took killing every blade of grass and even fish to get rid of it then I would be ok with that. Salvania is some bad [censored] and it will ruin a lake. Other grass and fish will come back. Think of the future, not today. I was born on lake Murvaul and although I haven't been there in many years I hate to see it overtaken with salvania.

I wish they would fix the pot holes in front of the ramp at Wileys but they don't care (out of site out of mind).

There's quite a bit of salvania in the reeds on the end under bridge. Some in a few of the other pockets. Far as killing the grass. They did that long time ago. There isn't any grass left in the lake hardly. What's there isn't enough to hold fish. I've been on this lake past 2 months now fishing every inch of it

Sad story, I've only fished Muvral once and caught a 12 pounder.I love that lake, the water color, the grass and the old RR trestle. I think that Murval is a jewel and had long since come back to its glory days(before Fork),when it once held a state record for largemouth in Texas. Hate to hear that its getting sprayed.

I fish Murvaul a couple times every week. I'm seeing salvinia on the main lake this year. The new building is their office for cabin/RV rentals and such (and board meetings too I imagine). The marina has been closed for quite awhile now since the board made the vendors vacate the building. I'm in agreement to keep the salvinia in check even if it means spraying the entire lake. It's too good a fishery to be lost to an invasive plant.
