I have a Ranger 375V that I am still thinking about putting a good used motor on but my first choice is to buy a bay boat. 21' - 22' is the size and looking to spend about $25k. Have cash so no need for seller to worry about waiting on funding. Reason I want a bay boat is for room to take nephew and parents fishing plus it fits what I do better than bass boat. Skeeter, Kenner or Ranger preferred. I have seen the Ranger 22 both here and on CL. Don't need ttop or power pole, prefer to match engine size to CG capacity, and it has limited seating so the Ranger is down my list. I have seen 3 boats that I really wanted. 2 sold before I called and one the dude won't answer phone. I almost have to assume the boat is sold but post is still up on CL but maybe he is on vacation.

u have to be very quick. the boats u are looking for are very popular and go quick. search craiglist daily around your area. expand the search out to 400-500 miles. be willing to travel a bit and be ready to check it out quick and buy on the spot because most sellers will have a line of buyers waiting for the popular brand bay boats. They are not going to wait around for weeks while u try to get a mechanic or surveyor to check it out. i recently bought a blazer bay 21 ft way below nada figures. saw the ad in the morning checked it out visually that night and test drove for a couple of hours the next day and we were doing the paperwork and money transfer by noon. During this period he probably got about 30-40 requests for the boat.

that is what I kinda of what I figured but also wonder why people do not delete CL ads. I figure they have to be annoyed by the calls. I would delete that ad as soon as the paperwork was complete. Maybe things will cool off towards the end of summer.

Too bad NC is a god 18 hour drive. I found at least 2 there that fit my needs perfectly.
